ESA is participating in ARCHES Demomission Space 2022

ESA is participating in ARCHES Demomission Space 2022 with its INTERACT robot and will demonstrate the state of the art in haptic control and simulate a geological moon mission (MIRACLES). In MIRACLES, the DLR and ESA robot teams will jointly explore the environment and collect rock samples.

These days, final technical preparations at the ESTEC site are being completed and also the members of the MIRACLES Flight Control Team went through a simulation/training campaign at ESOC. Most prominent MIRACLES FCT member is Thomas Reiter, who will control the INTERACT robot as astronaut in this simulated lunar mission. The whole team is full of eager and looks forward to their lunar mission from 27.06 to 30.06.

Now the INTERACT robot will be packed and sent to DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen to be tested one last time in collaboration with all ARCHES robots before heading to Mount Etna in Sicily.
